Light: Sino-Italian Photonics Forum 2024, one of the Light brand conferences, is scheduled for 17th-18th May, and will be held in Rome, Italy. It is hosted by the journal Light: Science & Applications, and co-organized by the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS-CIOMP) and by the National Research Council of Italy, Department of Physical Sciences and Technologies of Matter (CNR-DSFTM)--the two top research institutions in Optics and Photonics in China and Italy.  

The agenda encompasses a wide array of topics, spanning from Gravitational Wave Field/Space Optics, Quantum Optics, Nano-photonics, and Nonlinear Optics, to Holographic Optical Technologies, Aviation Correlation, Imaging, lasers, microscopy and beyond.

Specifically, this event aims to facilitate cross-linking and mutual enrichment between two esteemed institutions: CNR-DSFTM and CAS-CIOMP. While DSFTM emphasizes fundamental research in the realms of optics and photonics, CAS-CIOMP focuses on their engineering practical applications. This convergence promises to yield fruitful exchanges, blending application-oriented research with more foundational investigations, sparking inspiration on both fronts.

Beyond the immediate objectives, Light: Sino-Italian Photonics 2024 endeavors to bolster collaboration and knowledge sharing among Chinese and Italian researchers. By fostering cultural exchange, advancing scientific understanding, and catalyzing innovation in optics and photonics technology, the event aspires to leave a lasting impact on the global scientific community.
